We Honor Native Land

We are based out of Nashville, Tennessee. Utilizing the Honorable Harvest principles shared by Robin Wall Kimmerer in “Braiding Sweetgrass we respectfully gather regional ecotype seeds from land that was cherished and stewarded for generations by communities of Cherokee, Creek, Chickasaw, Koasati, Quapaw, Shawnee, and Yuchi tribes of Tennessee.

We are honored to partner with Indigenous nations protecting and preserving North America’s cultural and ecological communities so that future generations of people and pollinators will continue to enjoy them.

As a step toward honoring the truth and achieving healing and reconciliation, Plant for a Change commits to open any editorial or public event acknowledging the traditional Native lands of the Shawnee and Cherokee on which we stand. Such statements become truly meaningful when coupled with authentic relationships and sustained commitment. We therefore commit to move beyond words into programs and actions that fully embody a commitment to Indigenous rights and cultural equity.
