‘Iswet ‘Akúşhi’ Peşhé’a (Cupeño) Miniature Lupine
We are grateful for Mr. John Machado, member of the Kuupangaxwichem Nation (Cupeño Nation), for sharing this recording. The Cupeño are an Indigenous tribe of Southern California from around present day San-Diego. Today, their descendants are members of the federally recognized tribes known as the Pala Band of Luiseño Mission Indians, Morongo Band of Cahuilla Mission Indians, and Los Coyotes Band of Cahuilla and Cupeno Indians.
